What are Evergreen Topics?

Those of you embarking on a freelance writing career may run into many terms. One term that you may see more frequently than others is: "Evergreen."
Evergreen topics are subjects that don't change. They are topics that people are always (and will forever be) interested in. These Evergreen topics will always be trending and always searched for.

Some examples of Evergreen topics include:
  • Money
Anything to do with the stock market, credit, etc are always trending.
  • Employment
Employment news and advice, especially nowadays, is a very hot topic. With the recession and Obamacare, people are hungry for the latest information. Many new laws are impacting small businesses, and people who are looking for employment, or to open a new business need to know what is going on in their area of the world. Not to mention, people are also curious about working from home. People want to know which sites are legit, and which ones are scams.
  • Relationships
Relationships will always be a hot topic. Love, marriage, dating, divorce, friendships, etc are topics that are searched for on an hourly basis. People look for advice. People want to know how to keep the spark in their marriage alive. People want to know how to handle "fair-weather" friends. People want to know how to handle that creepy co-worker who is always giving you the eye.
  • Parenting
Parenting is a 24/7/365, for-the-rest-of-your-life job. It is the most important (and rewarding) job a person will have. A new parent may want advice on how to handle their 2 year old's "terrible two's." Someone may want advice on what schools to send their child to.
  • Gardening
During the spring and summer, you may pass many beautiful gardens on the way to your destination. You may find yourself wondering how to make your garden just as beautiful. If you're a writer, help out your fellow gardens and share some of your secrets. Also, with the rising prices of fruits and veggies, many have taken to growing their own food. People want to know how to grow their own food. Help a fellow food grower out and offer your expertise to your readers.

If you're looking to reach more viewers, try writing an article using an "Evergreen" topic.

The dangers of mobile banking

Mobile banking has become increasingly popular, since we are all pretty much dependent on mobile devices. Many phones have apps where you can do your banking from where ever you are. Banking apps can help you deposit checks, transfer funds, pay your credit card bill, etc. But, how safe is it to bank from your mobile device?

In this article, I will discuss some of the dangers of banking on your mobile device, and provide tips to help you bank safely from your mobile device.

Dangers to keep in mind
  • Not all transmissions are safe. Some of your private information could be seen by a third party.
  • You are at an increased chance of identity theft if you banking isn't password protected.
  • Keep in mind that automatically saved passwords aren't always safe.
  • If you share your mobile device with someone, they could view your information.
  • Old phones may still have your personal banking information.
Ways to bank safely
  1. Be sure to bank with a secure connection. Make sure you are using your bank's official app. There are a lot of copycat apps out there. You don't want your banking information to get in the wrong hands.
  2. By having a password protected banking app, you are securing your private information from being hacked into. Be sure to create a password that contains symbols, numbers, upper and lower case letters.
  3. Do not automatically save your passwords. The seasoned identity thief can still gain access to your personal information. Write down your password and keep it secure.
  4. We all have loaned our phone out to at least one person in our lives. Whether it is our child, a friend, or a friend of a friend, we've loaned them our phone to play a game, or make a phone call. Be sure that you've signed out of accounts that contain personal information.
  5. If you are upgrading your mobile device, be sure to delete all information from your device's memory. The next person who has your old phone could gain access to all of your private information, especially if you've never logged out of your accounts.
Mobile banking is a convenient method of banking for the adult on the go, but, it can also become dangerous if you don't bank securely. Keep in mind all of the above steps and you should have no problems with your banking experience.

Why I will be deleting my Bubblews posts and moving them here

For a year and a half, I had been a loyal member of social networking site Bubblews. It is a site where you can write about anything you want and "earn money" for it. I earned quite a bit of money from it for the first year and 2 months.

The last few months have been terrible. With the increase of spammers, technical glitches, and staff not communicating with their members when they inquire about their payments, I've felt less comfortable on the site. I wrote nearly 1,100 pieces for Bubblews, and generated a TON of traffic for the site. I also referred members to that site (most of which have left because of the above problems).
Actually, the main reason most of my referrals have left is because they haven't been paid.

Now, it looks like I may be leaving too. The site has become overrun by spam bots and they are just too distracting. Not to mention, I haven't received payment for my posts for the past couple of months. Bubblews owes me well over $100. I have emailed them over a handful of times without any reply. If a site says that they will compensate users for their posts, I expect compensation. Otherwise, I'm going to go elsewhere. Also, I don't like being distracted by spam bots. When I write posts, I don't want to see spam bots in my comments section. I enjoy interacting with readers. I don't like to feel as if I'm talking to a wall when I'm writing. I also don't like the fact that when I delete the comments on Bubblews, I lose money.

These are reasons why I'm leaving Bubblews by August 15. I'm giving Bubblews staff by this date to reply back to my emails. If they don't respond, I'm taking down my posts, moving them here, and requesting for my profile to be taken down.

I will be slowly moving things here in the coming day, so keep an eye out. I will be doing a lot of work on the actual appearance of this blog as well.

I hope everyone is having a great weekend!
